Defined Forest Area
The Mid Island Forest Operation is located on eastern Vancouver Island, near the communities of Campbell River and Sayward. It manages 157,000 hectares of Crown forest land under TFL 39 Block 2.

Employees and community
In 2018, Mid Island Forest Operation employed 282 full time equivalent employees. This included staff, union, contract, and consultants responsible for, but not limited to, the logging operation, silviculture, administration, and engineering projects.
Most employees live in Campbell River or Sayward. The local economies are reliant upon forestry, mining, fishing, and tourism.
Products and Markets
Logs are distributed by the log supply division for sale and transport to Western Forest Product’s sawmills and purchasers. WFP owns 10 mills in BC and Washington: Duke Point, Cowichan Bay, Ladysmith, Chemainus, Somass, Alberni Pacific, Valued Added Reman, Saltair, Arlington, and Columbia Vista.
